Powers Protection, Inc. is owned and operated by Jon and Ruth Powers. The company was established in Citrus Springs, Florida in 2006. We are a company that strives to provide affordable quality installation and servicing to residential or commercial properties. We provide burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV (surveillance cameras), home theater system, structured wiring (phone, cable, and computer), central vacs, intercoms, and whole house distributed audio. We offer UL listed burglar and fire alarm monitoring.

John Powers - Owner

Jon was born in Jacksonville Florida and moved to Citrus County when he was only a year old. In 2004 he met his wife, Ruth. They have 5 beautiful children and 2 grandchildren. In 2006, Jon and Ruth started Powers Protection with the priority of making security more affordable without the long-term contracts or panel lock outs. Jon loves spending his down time fishing and has recently received his Captains License.

Burglar Alarms

Monitored systems are those where a private company monitors your system 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, alerting the police if something goes wrong and you cannot be contacted. Failure to do this could result in the local Fire Department serving an enforcement notice requiring compliance. It also should be noted that, should the company ignore this, the local fire marshal has the authority to shut the building until it is brought back up to meet fire safety standards. Central Vacs

  • A VacuMaid® central vacuum system can reduce the number of allergens in your home by extracting dirt, dust, mold, pollen, and pet dander out of your carpet and furnishings - and it’s simple. The system sends these allergens through the network of hidden tubin g in your walls to the dirt can located in a remote area of your home. By doing this, the central vacuum system rids your home of these potentially harmful irritants--unlike most portable vacuum cleaners, which leave much of the fine dust recirculating in the air. Also, by having a central vacuum vented to the outside of your home, it is possible to remove even the smallest of particles from your living environment. The picture is an example of a typical installation. The power unit is placed in the garage with the dirt canister near the garage door. This allows for easy emptying of the canister and placement of a utility valve for cleaning out your car. The power unit is placed in a more remote location. The tubing can be run through the attic, basement or in the floors. Inlets are placed strategically in hallways.
