Burglar Alarms

Investing in an alarm system is a good option for added home security because it provides proven theft deterrence options as well as peace of mind. Alarm systems can be wired or wireless.

Monitored Or Unmonitored?

Monitored systems are those where a private company watches your system 24 hours a day, every day, alerting the police if something goes wrong and you cannot be contacted. Unmonitored systems have on-site sirens and flashing lights that alert your neighbors of a break-in, meaning that you’ll be relying on them to contact police if you aren’t home. The best security comes from monitored systems, because their vigilance is constant.

The Heart of the System -  Control Panel

The heart of your basic DSC security system is the control panel. This resides in a locked metal cabinet generally located in the utility room. The panel connects all of the devices to the main user interface points such as a keypad or wireless key. It also communicates alarm events to the central monitoring station.

Added Security - Wireless Alarm Communicator

The GS3060 connects the alarm control panel to the GSM network and reports alarm signals directly to a monitoring station receiver (Sur-Gard™ System II/System III).

The GS3060 uses the GPRS data channel of the GSM network to ensure low-cost, high-speed and reliable alarm communications and is compatible with control panels that communicate using the Contact ID format.

First Line of Defense - Door/Window Sensors

The sensors monitors the perimeter of the building and can be used to sound a chime when someone enters or leaves. Wireless options available.

Second Line of Defense - Motion Detectors

Dual-detection technology for reduction of false alarms. Standard and pet-immune options available.

Glassbreak detectors are also available to detect the sound of broken glass.

Third Line of Defense - Smoke Detectors

Detects both smoke and heat. Alerts the central monitoring station about the nature of the alarm. Allows for quick fire dispatch and can protect possessions and pets when the family is not home.
